Speed Sensor 2: Pairing Troubleshooting with the Garmin Connect App
If the Garmin Connect™ app shows a message that it has found the Speed Sensor 2, but then appears to be stuck or you receive a "Pairing Failed" message, review the following common solutions that may solve your problem. The "Pairing Failed" message may be followed by "Setup was not successful" or "Unable to pair your Garmin device"
NOTE: The Speed Sensor 2 can only support 2 simultaneous Bluetooth® connections. Ensure that the Speed Sensor 2 is not already connected to two other Bluetooth devices (i.e. devices that are not your phone). If it is, remove the Speed Sensor 2 from one of those other devices.
First Time Pairing Instructions
Ensure that the Speed Sensor 2 is installed on your bike.
Ensure that the Speed Sensor is awake by rotating the wheel for at least 2 revolutions
Confirm the LED on the sensor is flashing green. If there is no LED activity replace the battery.
Cancel the current pairing procedure, then retry pairing.
If the pairing procedure still fails, close the Garmin Connect app and reopen it before attempting the pairing procedure again:
Help With a Previously Paired Sensor
Remove the Speed Sensor 2 from your list of Garmin devices in the Garmin Connect app, for all of your Garmin Connect accounts (see )
NOTE: If you own an iPhone or an Android phone with Android 7.0 or older, go to your list of Bluetooth devices in your phone settings and remove the Speed Sensor 2 (the device name will be SPD-BLE followed by a 7-digit number). Do this for all of your phones.
Retry the pairing procedure.
Confirm the LED on the sensor is flashing green. If there is no LED activity replace the battery.
If the pairing procedure still fails:
Close the Garmin Connect app and reopen it:
Remove the battery, wait 30 seconds, re-insert the battery, then try the pairing procedure again
