Many Garmin devices support the ability of adding courses via Garmin Connect™ applications. Refer to your device owner's manual to determine if your Edge® cycling computer or Garmin® watch has this feature.
Course points are markers on a course created in Garmin Connect to signal important locations. For example a support station during an event, or dangerous intersection. When enabled on a compatible device, they will show on the course just like you would be notified for a turn.
Categories for course points include:
General
Aid Station
Cycling
Personal
Landmarks
Hazard

There is a limit to the number of course points that can be added per individual course. This limit is dependent on your device, for example it is 200 course points for Edge cycling computers and 50 for Forerunner watches. Course point limits include every turn in a course in addition to any manually created points you have added to a course.
If you device isn't performing well while calculating the route for a course, or while following a course, consider splitting it into smaller courses for optimal performance while routing. Reducing the number of course points may also help performance with longer courses.
