PRODUCTS AFFECTED:
All Garmin aviation products are affected.
ISSUE:
Operating the aircraft while using an unapproved wireless transceiver device inserted into the SD card slot of your Garmin navigator may induce a malfunction, may cause damage to the unit, and may negatively affect the airworthiness approval of the installation. Damage caused by unapproved devices may not be covered under the Garmin warranty.
At this time, the only wireless transceiver device that has received airworthiness approval for flight in a compatible Garmin avionics system SD card slot is the Garmin Flight Stream 510.
ACTION:
Do not fly with a wireless transceiver device that has not received airworthiness approval inserted into the SD card slot of your Garmin avionics system.
