Does My Watch Need to be Connected to My Phone to Listen to Downloaded Music?

Your watch only needs to be connected to your phone to sync your downloaded content. Once your content is synced, you can enjoy music or podcasts offline without a requiring a Bluetooth® connection to your phone. How Many Songs Can I Store on My Garmin Watch?

The amount of content from Spotify that can be stored on your watch will depend on the amount of memory you have available. In most cases you should be able to sync several playlists and hundreds of songs.

Can I Listen to Audiobooks?

Audiobooks are not supported on Garmin wearables through Spotify.

Can I Fast Forward or Rewind Podcasts?

The option to fast forward or rewind a podcast is available for Followed Podcasts in Spotify. The option will not be available if the podcast is inside of a playlist.

Why Is a Podcast I Downloaded Missing From My Watch?

In order to download a podcast to your watch it must be a podcast that is hosted by Spotify. If the podcast will not display on your watch after you sync it is likely due to it being externally hosted.

How Do I Create a Spotify Playlist for My Watch?

Any Playlists saved in your Spotify account should be accessible to sync to your device, with the exception of your Liked Songs playlist. If you need help creating a playlist, see the following FAQ from Spotify: Create a Playlist.

Why Did My Playlist Disappear From My Garmin Watch?

No longer seeing your playlists on your watch can mean the following:

  • Your Spotify subscription has expired.

  • You exceeded your limit of offline watches.

  • The watch has not been synced over Wi-Fi® through the Spotify app within the last 15 days.

    • This is needed to verify your account status periodically. Failure to do this can also result in a "Content Expired" error message on the watch. This can be resolved by selecting Update Downloads from the Spotify app on the watch (when the watch battery is charged and in range of your Wi-Fi network).

Will My Garmin Watch Support My Liked Songs Playlist on Spotify?

The Spotify Connect IQ app does not support sending your liked songs playlist to your watch.

How Do I Remove a Song From My Watch?

Deleting a song from your watch requires you to remove the song from your Spotify playlist and sync the playlist again. There is not a way to delete a single song from the watch.

How Do I Change the Play Order of Playlists on My Watch?

The watch reflects the playlists in your Spotify account. If you edit the playlist in Spotify, just update the playlist on the watch and it will reflect the changes you made in the app.

How Do I Remove a Playlist From My Watch?


Touchscreen Watch Instructions

  1. Open the Music player.

  2. Select the Library Icon two vertical lines to the left of a diagonal line in a black box.

  3. Select Add Music & Podcasts.

  4. Select Playlists.

  5. Select Remove for the playlist you want to remove.

  6. Confirm the remove prompt. Remove will only appear for playlists you have already downloaded.

    • Created but not yet downloaded playlists will display Add instead.


Non-touchscreen Watch Instructions

  1. Open the Music player.

  2. Tap the middle left button and select Library icon two vertical lines to the left of a diagonal line in a black box.

  3. Select Add Music & Podcasts.

  4. Select Playlists, then select the playlist you want to remove.

  5. Confirm the remove prompt. Remove will only appear for playlists you have already downloaded.

    • Created but not yet downloaded playlists will display Add instead.

How Do I Remove Podcast Episodes on My Watch?

  1. Open the Music player.

  2. Select the Library icon two vertical lines to the left of a diagonal line in a black box.

  3. Select Edit Downloads.

  4. Select the Podcast.

  5. Remove any episodes you do not want on the watch or remove all.
