How Do I Purchase SAR if I Have an Account With a Reseller?
If you are wanting to purchase a Pro SAR plan, reach out to the Pro sales team at inReach.professional@garmin.com.
If you have want to purchase an individual SAR plan, visit Garmin.com and search "Search and Rescue", and create an account with a different email address from the reseller email. The SAR plan does not have to be linked to a device, it just needs to have the covered person listed as the Insured Individual.

Is This Group Plan Available to Anyone?
This plan is only available to Professional account holders and has the same coverage level as the SAR 100. This plan allows the Professional account holder to purchase multiple SAR 100s with more flexibility.
What Does This Policy Cover?
This policy is designed to help cover costs associated when a covered person activates the SOS button on a supported device. This policy will cover a person that is participating in any recreational or occupational activities that are not specifically excluded. Are There Any Exclusions for This Policy?
Yes, visit Certificate of Insurance for a complete list of exclusions. Note that this policy does not cover mountain climbing with the intent to go over 5,000 meters.
Do I Have to Assign Each Membership to Someone?
For a Pro insurance policy, the insurance is assigned to the account holder, the account holder is responsible for keeping a record of the covered individuals and submitting the documentation if a claim is filed.
What Devices Can Be Used With These Policies?

Are the Policies per Device or per Person?
Multiple people can use one device, but there must be an Insurance Policy for each individual that needs coverage.
Do I Need a Policy to Be Rescued?
No, you do not need to have a SAR policy to be rescued. To be rescued, you must activate the SOS button on a supported device (Supported Devices) and have an active monitoring plan for the device. Only the covered person will receive benefit and coverage from the SAR policy.
How Much Is a Rescue? What Does a Rescue Cost?
The cost of a search and rescue has many factors. We cannot estimate how much a rescue would cost an individual.
Does the Policy Cover Expense for the Recovery of a Vehicle, Vessel, or Equipment?
No, the policy does not cover recovery of vehicle, vessels, or other equipment.
Can I Cancel My Consumer SAR and Pick a Pro Plan? Could I Add a SAR HR on Our Pro Account for an Individual?

What Kind of Information Is Needed in Order to Submit a Claim, What Is Needed on My List of People Who Receive Coverage?
Please complete the SAR Claim Form. Once we receive and review your submission, a Garmin claims representative will reach out with additional details and next steps. Also, please send your list of covered individuals to plan-support@garmin.com when you file a claim. Please reach out to inReach.professional@garmin.com and they can provide you with a document to track your insured individuals.
