Why Does the Grade Percentage Lag on My Device?

The grade percentage readout on your device may take some time to react during a climb with frequent changes in grade. A lag of 5-15 seconds is expected behavior by the device. The lag is due to the large number of data points collected and processed through an algorithm to calculate the grade readout. There also may be a slight variation in the grade reading when comparing multiple devices simultaneously.
