Sharing Your Garmin Connect Data With Apple Health
Apple Health can receive the following data from your Garmin Connect™ account:
NOTICE: Garmin Connect™ pushes data to Apple Health (limited by settings/device support) but doesn't pull data from an Apple watch or Apple Health.
Active Energy
Body Fat Percentage
Body Mass Index
Flights Climbed
Heart Rate
Garmin syncs all-day heart rate to Apple Health, but only sends high/low HR values for timed activities. Consequently, the Apple Activity app may show "Chart Unavailable" for these activity heart rate graphs due to missing detailed data.
Resting Energy
Sleep Analysis
Steps
Walking + Running Distance
Water
Weight
Workouts (activities uploaded to Garmin Connect)
Any associated GPS track will NOT be written to Apple Health
Once enabled, Garmin Connect syncs data to Apple Health after each successful device sync.
How Do I Enable or Disable Sharing With Apple Health?
To enable or disable sharing data from Garmin Connect to Apple Health:
Open the Apple Health app.
Select Summary (bottom left).
Select your Profile Picture (top right).
Select Apps and Services under Privacy.
Select the Connect app.
Toggle Categories on or off.
After enabling sharing, the Health app imports your past data going back up to two weeks.
If you initially declined to share data with Apple Health, you may need to grant permission from within the Connect app first:
Open the Garmin Connect app.
Select More.
Select Settings.
Select Connect Apps.
Select Apple Health under "Available Apps."
Select Connect with Apple Health.
Select the items that Garmin Connect can access.
Select Allow.
I Have Enabled Data from Garmin Connect to Be Shared But It Is Not Appearing in the Apple Health App
Garmin Connect must be open in the foreground to send data to Apple Health. If closed, the transfer pauses and completes only on the next sync performed while the app is open.
Apple Health can integrate data from multiple sources, but it uses a priority system when receiving the same type of data from more than one place. Only data from the highest-priority source (as listed in Apple Health settings) will be displayed. Therefore, if your Garmin Connect data isn't appearing even though sharing is enabled, you likely need to adjust Apple Health's data source priority to ensure Garmin Connect is ranked higher than other conflicting sources. For instructions on how to do this, see: Prioritize data sources in Apple Health.
My Rings Are Not Updating in the Apple Health App
Apple Health movement rings require a previously paired Apple Watch to be visible and only update with data synced from an Apple Watch. Data sent from a Garmin device will not progress the rings.
