Rally and Vector 3 Series Power Meter Data Issue

If you feel that the power readings from your Rally™ power meter or Vector™ 3 power meter are too high, too low, or erratic,  review the following tips and troubleshooting techniques to ensure your pedals are installed and configured correctly.

NOTE: Do not install pedal extenders. Doing so could damage the electronics in the pedals, causing the pedals to not function.

Calibrate Your Pedals

A static calibration should be performed before each ride.

Check Your Crank Length Setting

By default this value is set to 172.5 which is a common crank length size. You will need to change this value through your Edge® cycling computer or paired device if your cranks are shorter or longer than the default. Instructions for changing the crank length setting can be found in the owner's manual of your Rally or Vector Series power meter.

Confirm the Software on Your Pedals Are up to Date

Paired devices such as an Edge will periodically check for and prompt you to install software updates to your pedals. Pair your pedals to the Garmin Connect™ Mobile app to manually check for software updates. For more instructions to update the software on your power meter, see related .

Ensure the Batteries in Your Pedals Are Good

You can check the battery health from your paired device. If it is time to change the batteries on your system, review:  Best Practices When Changing Batteries on a Vector 3 or Rally System

Check Battery Covers

The battery cover on a Rally pedal needs to be tightened to five newton meters (Nm). On the Vector 3 pedals, the cover requires about one and three-quarters of a full turn to become tight. Do not overtighten. The cover is sufficiently tight when the O-ring gasket is no longer visible.

Confirm Torque

Garmin® recommends the pedals are installed with a torque of 25 lbf-ft. (34 N-m).
