The device will normally check for updates and turn off with the option to cancel the device shutdown when external power is lost.
You may need to update the device’s software if the device is removed from the mount or power cable and shuts off immediately. Update instructions can be found by following the Software section under your device in Support Center.
Use your device normally in your vehicle while connected to its power cable after updating. The device may need to be replaced if it still shuts off without checking for updates after losing external power.
