Loading a Departure into a GTN (Xi)

The Following Should Be Kept in Mind When Loading a Departure Into the GTN™(Xi) touchscreen avionics:

• Flight plans allow only one departure procedure at a time.

• Loading a departure when one is already present will replace the existing entry.

• Selecting a departure, transition waypoint, and runway defines the route.

• Vector-only departures may be excluded from some databases.

• The Load Departure option loads the departure procedure into the active flight plan.

To Select a Departure From the Home Page:

1. Touch the PROC key on the Home page
2. Departure 1
3. Touch the Departure key to display the Departure list.

5. If necessary, touch the Airport key and enter the departure airport.

7. Tap Departure and select a departure from the list.

8. Tap Transition and select a transition.

9. Tap Runway and select a runway.
10. Tap Preview, then review the departure diagram and sequence list.

11. Tap Load Departure, then scroll the flight plan to view all departure waypoints.

12. To change the departure, tap the existing flight plan departure and select a different one.  If the selected runway displays a 'B', such as 'RW10B',  this means the selected runway is both 10L and 10R.
