Are you Ready for Riding Season?
See the tips below to ensure you are ready to hit the road with your Garmin Motorcycle device this season.
Storing Your Device in the Off-Season
Proper storage of your device is key to the overall battery life.
See How to Store a zūmo or BMW Motorrad Device in the Off-Season to Maximize Battery Life for more information.
Charging Your Device
Since your device may have a depleted battery after months of storage, it is recommended to fully charge your device before using it again.
The recommended method to charge your device is to use the included Motorcycle Power Cable.
Or, you can use an AC Adapter if it has at least a 2A output rating.
A full charge may take several hours.
You can verify a full charge by unplugging the device and checking the battery icon on the home screen.
After charging, you should be able to power on your device by pressing the power button. If it doesn’t power on, press and hold the power button for up to 30 seconds.
Updating Your Device
It is important to update the software and maps to make sure you have the best experience on the road. Some devices can update over Wi-Fi, while others will use the Garmin Express™ Application.
