Connecting Two ECHOMAP UHD2 or ECHOMAP Ultra 2 Chartplotters to Share User Data and Sonar

The ECHOMAP™ UHD 2 chartplotters and the ECHOMAP™ Ultra 2 chartplotters can be connected wirelessly to share user data and sonar. User data is shared automatically between the two devices while they are connected. Sonar sharing may require selecting a sonar source. If both of the ECHOMAP UHD2 or ECHOMAP Ultra 2 chartplotters have a transducer connected, each device uses its own sonar source automatically. The sonar source can be switched manually to the other device. If only one ECHOMAP UHD2 or ECHOMAP Ultra 2 chartplotter has a transducer connected, that device is the sonar source for both devices.

NOTES:
• Only built in sonar (Traditional, ClearVu, and SideVu) can be shared wirelessly. LiveScope can only be shared via a physical Garmin Marine Network Connection.
• Charts cannot be wirelessly shared.

To connect the two devices, designate one device as the host and the other device as the client. Only two ECHOMAP UHD2 or ECHOMAP Ultra 2 chartplotters can be connected at a time. The host device can be connected to other wireless devices like a phone or tablet while it is connected with an ECHOMAP chartplotter.

  1. Ensure the two ECHOMAP chartplotters are within range, 32 m (105 ft.), and turn on both devices

  2. On the ECHOMAP chartplotter that will host the network, set up the Wi‑Fi network (Setting Up the Wi‑Fi Network)

  3. On the ECHOMAP host device, select Setting Icon UHD2 > Communications > Wi-Fi Network > Wi-Fi > On > Host > Pair Chartplotter > Start

  4. On the ECHOMAP client device, select Setting Icon UHD2 > Communications > Wi-Fi Network > Wi-Fi > On > Client > Pair Host > Start

  5. Select OK after devices connect successfully

To disconnect, on the client device select Setting Icon UHD2 > Communications > Wi-Fi Network > Unpair.
