How to Sign Up for Aircraft Position Reports Through Garmin Connext Satellite Services
There are a few steps required regarding Position Reports with Garmin Connext Satellite Services:
- Determine if your aircraft and Garmin Avionics have the capabilities
- Aircraft with Garmin Integrated Flight Decks such as the G1000 (NXi), G3000 and G5000
- Does the aircraft have the GSR 56 LRU Installed?
- If yes, Garmin suggest contacting the following if the specified airframe has Position Reporting capabilities
- The respective aircraft Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Service Center
- How can I Find a Garmin Aviation Dealer?
- Contact Garmin Aviation Support
- Phone 1-866-739-5687
- Email FlightDataServices@Garmin.com
- If no, Garmin suggests contacting the Respective OEM Service Center for installation options, if available
- If yes, Garmin suggest contacting the following if the specified airframe has Position Reporting capabilities
- Does the aircraft have the GSR 56 LRU Installed?
- Aircraft equipped with newer Garmin Retrofit Avionics such as a GTN (Xi)
- Does the aircraft have the GSR 56 LRU Installed?
- Position Reports will be available with a subscription through Garmin Connext Satellite Services
- Does the aircraft have the GSR 56 LRU Installed?
- Aircraft equipped with Garmin Retrofit Avionics such as a GNS?
- There are no Position Reports available through Garmin Connext Satellite Services
- There are no Position Reports available through Garmin Connext Satellite Services
- Aircraft with Garmin Integrated Flight Decks such as the G1000 (NXi), G3000 and G5000
- Verify Position Reports are enabled
- Check the respective Garmin Avionics Pilot Guide for Position Reports operations
- If the menu button is available for Position Reports
- Proceed to the next step
- If the menu button is not available
- Contact one of the following to enable the Avionics for Position Reports
- The respective aircraft OEM Service Center
- How can I Find a Garmin Aviation Dealer?
- Contact one of the following to enable the Avionics for Position Reports
- If the menu button is available for Position Reports
- Check the respective Garmin Avionics Pilot Guide for Position Reports operations
- Pick a provider Garmin has partnered with
- Garmin has a partnership with the following providers that our Garmin Avionics can send Position Reports to
- Garmin suggest reaching out to these providers to determine which one best suit the customer’s needs as each can vary in their services
- Register for the Position Reports Services with Garmin
- If you are signing up for Connext Satellite Services for a new aircraft
- Complete the application at FlyGarmin.com
- You will need the following to complete the application
- Aircraft Registration (Tail) Number
- Aircraft Serial Number
- Garmin Avionics Model
- Garmin Avionics System ID
- GSR 56 Serial Number
- If the aircraft has dual GSR’s, enter both
- GDL 59 (Optional)
- Leave blank if not installed in aircraft
- Make sure Position Reports and the Provider are selected during this process
- You will need the following to complete the application

- If you already have Connext Satellite Services for an aircraft and are wanting to add Position Reports for it
- Email FlightDataServices@Garmin.com with the following
- Account Number
- Aircraft Registration (Tail) Number
- Request to add Position Reports
- The Provider you wish to use
