How do I purchase aviation database updates for my GPSMAP 69x?

Aviation database updates are managed through the flyGarmin website. The link to the flyGarmin website can be found at the bottom of the Garmin website homepage - http://www.garmin.com/en-US .

A single user account is used to manage all of your aviation equipment.

On the right side of the flyGarmin homepage, ‘Sign In’ to your existing account (or ‘Create One’).

Database updates are managed by aviation device type – including Portables, Aircraft (avionics), and the Garmin Pilot app.

Once logged into the account, select the tab corresponding to your aviation device type.

Database updates are purchased using a device/system profile.

Portables tab:
a. If you have previously created a device profile, select/click the device name.
b. If you have not previously created a device profile, select/click the “Add a new…” function on the right side of the tab/page.
c. Determine the correct Unit ID/System ID of your device for the device profile. DO NOT USE THE SERIAL NUMBER/BARCODE. Use the steps below determine the Unit ID/System ID of your device. Enter this Unit ID/System ID in the flyGarmin device profile.
d. Complete the device profile using the Unit ID from your device. [<xxx> = button]

Available databases are listed for each product profile.

Select/click the Device name on the webpage to display the product window of available databases (left side window) and the Device Overview.

Select/click the database option in the side window for purchase (and install) options. (The INSTALL button only appears after the database has been purchased.) Database options (listed in the side window) include OnePak, Bundles, Airport Directory, etc..

Databases must be installed to a memory card (i.e. SD datacard - 8G or smaller).

After the purchase is complete, return to the above window, select a purchased database, and select the Install… button. Follow the instructions to complete the installation.
