Using Pacing Alerts for Pool Swimming
Pacing alerts are designed to help pool swimmers stay on their target pace.
To use pacing alerts for the first time:
Go to Pool Swim Activity Settings and select Alerts,
Select Add New
Select Pacing
Follow the on-screen instructions to set your target pace in units of mm:ss per 100 meters if you are swimming in a pool measured in Meters, or mm:ss per 100 yards if you are swimming in a pool measured in yards.
When you are swimming, the watch will alert (tone and vibe) whenever you should be at the wall and turning, in order to stay on your target pace. (For example, if your target pace is 2:00 /100 m and you are swimming in a 25 m pool, the alert will sound every 30 seconds.) If the alert sounds before you have reached the wall, then you are slower than your target pace. If the alert sounds after you have turned, you are ahead of your target pace.
It is simple to mute the pacing alert, or adjust the target pace, during your swim. While you are resting, press and hold the Up key to access the menu and select Pacing Alerts.
NOTE: It is recommended that you turn off auto rest and use the Lap button to start and end your swim intervals if you are using pacing alerts.
