Garmin Express log collection
Garmin Express creates a set of log files on the computer when it is running. These files contain information that will allow Product Support to identify the issue and provide a resolution in a timely manner. These may be requested by Product Support when working to resolve an issue.
To collect the logs from the computer using Garmin Express:
Windows:
- Open Garmin Express
- Click the Help icon (?) in the upper right-hand corner
- Click Send Reports
- Enter the code provided by Garmin Product Support
- Click Send
Mac OS X:
- Open Garmin Express
- Click Help in the menu bar
- Click Garmin Express Help
- Click Send Reports
- Enter the code provided by Garmin Product Support
- Click Submit
If using Garmin Express to gather the logs is not an option, use the Garmin Express Log Collector.
To collect the logs from the computer using the Garmin Express Log Collector:
Windows:
- Download the Garmin Log Collector: http://download.garmin.com/omt/tools/GarminExpressLogCollector.exe
- Run the GarminExpressLogCollector.exe and click Find log files
- A Garmin Express log zip will be placed on the desktop.
Mac:
- Click Finder or Macintosh HD from desktop
- Click Go from the Mac menu bar (gray bar at the top of the screen)
- Click Go to Folder...
- Empty the Go to the folder: text field if text exists
- Type in the following: ~/Library/Application Support/Garmin/Express/Logs
These files can be attached to Garmin Product Support correspondence.
