Why won't my Forerunner 305, 205, 210 or 110 transfer to the computer or take a charge?

In some cases, one of the copper connectors on the back of the device or on the charging accessory may have been oxidized. If the Forerunner is not being detected by the computer or taking a charge, try cleaning the contacts on both the watch and the charging clip or cradle.

The following non-abrasive substances can be used to clean the contacts:

  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Toothpaste
  • Pencil erasers

After cleaning the contacts, connect the device to the computer to charge and transfer workouts.

Another solution if the Forerunner still will not respond to the computer or charge is to perform a soft reset. To soft reset the Forerunner 210 and 110:

  1. Connect Forerunner 210 or 110 to computer
  2. Press and hold Light button for 7 seconds

The watch should power on once Light is released.

Once the device properly powers on and charges, use WebUpdater to update the device's firmware.
