You can use your Bluetooth-enabled GPS device with your cell phone by pairing them. Before you begin, please set your Bluetooth phone to Find Me/Discoverable mode. If you are not sure how to do this, refer to the owner's manual or documentation that came with the cell phone.

To enable the Bluetooth feature on your Garmin device:

  1. Touch Tools1
  2. Touch Settings
  3. Touch Bluetooth
  4. Touch the blue box under or next to Bluetooth2
  5. Touch Enabled
  6. Touch OK

1Some devices may not require this step.

2 Some devices may require you to touch the box next to Enable Bluetooth to insert a check mark.

Once the Bluetooth feature is enabled, you can pair your phone with your device by following the steps below:

  1. Follow the above steps to access the Bluetooth menu
  2. Touch Change/Add under or next to the Connections/Phone option
    • Touch Scan for Devices on some devices
  3. Touch Add Device
    • Skip this step on some devices
  4. Touch OK
    • Skip this step on some devices
  5. Touch OK on the message that prompts you to set your phone to Find Me/Discoverable mode
  6. The Garmin device will now search for and display a list of compatible Bluetooth devices in the area
    • Touch the name of the desired phone from the list
  7. Touch OK
  8. Enter the passkey displayed, if prompted

A message should display that the Garmin device successfully paired with the phone.

If the two devices experience any connectivity issues, please see the article What should I do if my Bluetooth phone and Bluetooth-enabled automotive device have issues when paired? for a list of troubleshooting steps.
