When using an inReach® Mini 2 device, it is possible to compose messages through the the Garmin Messenger™ app, the Garmin Explore™ app, or through the device itself. The instructions below will walk through the process of composing a message and how to access additional keyboard options for numbers, symbols, or upper-case alphabet on an inReach Mini 2 device.
Start a new message, or reply to an existing conversation.
New Message:
From the home page, press OK to open the main menu.
Select Send Message.
Choose recipients from your contacts list, or select Type Contact to enter each recipient's contact information.
Select Next.
Existing Conversation:
From the home page, press 
or 
to scroll through the widget glances.
Select Messages.
Select a conversation.
Select Reply.
Select Type Message.
Press or to scroll through the alphabet.
Press OK to select a letter.
After entering a letter the autocomplete prompt will appear:
Continue typing letters to complete the message.
To use autocomplete:
Hold OK.
Select a word from the list of suggestions.
Press 
to go back to selecting individual letters.
After finishing the message select 
.
Select Send.
The message will now be sent.
At the top of the alphabet list are several options:
Cursor left
Cursor Right
Backspace
Finished
Discard
Space
Press to cycle through additional options for numbers, symbols, or upper-case alphabet, or press and hold to discard a message. You can also select 
to change the keyboard language.
