Garmin Tracking Collar is Beeping and Flashing
If your Garmin collar is beeping strangely, and maybe flashing strangely, and doesn't seem to be tracking, you have mistakenly put the collar into the "pairing mode" by holding the button too long when powering on. If you hold more than a few seconds when power on, the collar goes into the "pairing mode". This mode is for adding/pairing the collar to the handheld.
To correctly power the collar On:
- Press the Power key for just one second
- A light will come on. Let go of the button
- The collar will boot up and start flashing
- When put outside in the open sky, it can roughly up to 20 minutes for it to start three flashing a green color. This indicates it has acquired satellite fix and is not ready to track.
To power the collar Off
- Press and Hold the Power key for several seconds until you see a solid red light (two to three seconds), then let go
- The collar will turn on, the light stops flashing.
