Garmin Pilot App Compatibility Requirements

The Garmin Pilot™ App can be installed on an Android or iOS device. Devices must meet the following minimum compatibility requirements.

Apple iOS:

• An operating system software (iOS) 17.4 or higher.

• The device is comparable with iPad Pro 2nd Gen, iPad Air 3, iPad 6th Gen, Mini 5, iPhone Xs or newer.

• For best performance, we recommend:

  • A device released within last 4 years.

  • A memory capacity of 128GB or larger.

  • In the case of an iPad, an LTE model for built-in GPS as backup.

Android:

• Compatible with all Android devices with Android OS 7.0 (Nougat) or newer.

• For best performance, we recommend:

  • An operating system software of Android 12 or newer.

  • Samsung Galaxy S series tablets, Samsung handsets & Google Pixel handsets.

  • Device released within the last 4 years.

  • A memory capacity of 128GB or larger.

• Android device must natively support Google Play Store.

The following phone models did not pass internal tests. The Garmin Pilot app and device may work together, but may require continued troubleshooting:

• Huawei phones

• Lenovo Vibe X S960

• Meizu MX4

• Samsung J3 Model J320FN

Note: If the Garmin Pilot app is installed on a device that is running an unsupported OS version, this may result in a loss of functionality. If you uninstall the Garmin Pilot app while being on an unsupported OS version, you may not be able to locate and install it again from your app store.
