Issues Installing Certain Garmin Applications on Mac OS X
Some Garmin applications may fail to install on Mac OS X because they are blocked by Gatekeeper. Gatekeeper is a collection of security features designed to protect Macs against malware.
When Gatekeeper blocks an application from installing, a message will appear stating that the application can't be opened because it was not downloaded from the Mac App Store or it can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer.
Resolution
To install an application that is being blocked by Gatekeeper:
- Ensure that the application was downloaded from Garmin.com and not a 3rd-party website
- Open the downloaded .dmg file for the program
- Press and hold the Ctrl key and click the package file displayed in the new window
- Select Open from the menu
- Click the Open button
- Follow the prompts to install the application
