Garmin Express "Error Installing the Content" or "Unable to Activate Your Purchase" of Downloadable Content Maps

If you have not purchased a downloadable content (DLC) map in the past, see Garmin Express Fails to Complete the "Downloading Files" Stage or Error Installing Message

If you have purchased a downloadable content (DLC) map in the past, and are attempting to activate a new purchase of the map in Garmin Express, you may see two copies of the map in the Purchased tab. Clicking on the Activate button may result in one of the following error messages:

  • There was an error installing the content” 
  • We are unable to activate your purchase at this time
