inReach Mini Firmware Update Release Notes

The inReach Mini Firmware updates provide inReach satellite communicators with new features and capabilities. Unlike previous inReach versions, the inReach Mini's firmware is updated thru the Garmin Express application. Firmware updates must be done via a computer and cannot be done using the Earthmate application. v2.30 September 6th, 2018 

New: 

• Added XT icon for Extended Tracking 
• Added ANT+ logo in the status bar when using inReach Remote 
• Improved ANT+ wireless performance for range and reliability 
• Modified Auto On / Auto Off behavior 
• Added meters per second as an available unit for reporting wind speed 
• Disabled GPS logging by default. This will apply to new devices and factory reset devices (Setup → Tracking → Log Interval) 
• Updated text strings for various languages 

Fixes: 

• Resolved numerous inReach Remote issues when using ANT+ connected devices 
• Fixed issue on the Weather page and home screen where condition icon and precipitation chance may be wrong 
• Improved Extended Tracking warning message to better explain what gets turned off

New:

• Increased font size for the current UI selection
• New Bluetooth widget now provides more information about the connection status
• Added time of day to old messages sent within the same calendar year
• Added hot and cold indicators for situations where the battery is not charging due to high or low temperatures
• Device now triggers a mailbox check once an hour if it has not received any traffic
• Reduced battery requirements for flashing firmware
• Added Activation widget (only shows on deactivated devices)

Fixes:

• Low battery notifications should now clear when the device is plugged in and charging
• Adjusted volume controls and resolved issues with certain sounds
• Removed some periods from being shown incorrectly on text strings
• Selecting Mute All will override "Ring Until Read" if the device is currently ringing
• Fixed rare issue with some messages not showing up in the thread overview
• Solved issue where the Weather page could show too many rain icons during light or no precipitation
• Fixed a few cases where Navigation alerts were missing
