Using Workouts in the Tacx Training and Tacx Desktop App
Workouts in the Tacx Training™ app and Tacx Training™ Desktop app will be replaced with Garmin Connect™ cycling workouts and Garmin Coach workouts on August 20th, 2024. This FAQ will address questions and important distinctions regarding this feature.
Will Workouts Stay Free? Or Will They Require a Subscription?
How Do I Create a Workout or Garmin Coach Plan For Tacx Training Apps in Garmin Connect?
Will All Tacx Workouts Be Removed?
Yes, all Tacx workouts are removed and will not be recoverable. However, this will not affect any of your Activity history. Several Garmin Connect workouts are available, so you can always do a workouts without having to create one yourself. You can also perform a manual workout using slope or power in the Tacx training or desktop app. Refer to Unstructured Riding With Tacx Trainers for more information.
Will Training Plans Be Removed?
Yes, all training plans will be removed. However, Garmin Coach training plans are available and are much more dynamic and customizable. Refer to Cycling Garmin Coach Plans for more information.
Will GPS (GPX) Workouts Be Removed?
No, GPS workouts will not be removed. Continue to use your GPS workouts as usual.
Will Workouts Stay Free or Require Subscription?
Workouts and training plans will remain free. GPS workouts will remain a premium feature. Refer to Tacx Application Subscription Options for more information on premium features.
How Do I Create a Workout or Garmin Coach Plan For Tacx Training Apps in Garmin Connect?
Refer to Using Garmin Connect Workouts in the Tacx Training App for options on using a Garmin Coach cycling training plan or creating custom scheduled workouts in Garmin Connect to be used in the Tacx Training App.
What Are The Benefits?
Garmin Connect offers more customized options when creating workouts. Garmin Coach plans offer a more guided experience with options focused on a variety of cycling events and disciplines. Full integration with Garmin Connect workouts allows for an improved experience for all wellness and training data between your existing Garmin Connect account and devices.

Open the Tacx Training app or Tacx Training Desktop app.
Connect your trainer. For assistance, see: Connecting Your Tacx Smart Trainer to the Tacx Training App
Select Workout(s).
Select an available workout, including:
Power or Slope
Garmin Workouts
My Workouts
Tests
Training Plans
Select Start.
