Adding or Removing Additional Users to an Index Smart Scale

How Do I Add a User to a Scale?

The Index Smart Scale and the Index S2 scale will prompt you to add additional users during your initial setup, whether online or through the Garmin Connect app. If you would like to add additional users after the initial setup, select your preferred method below for more information.

NOTE: Additional users must be added as a Connection in order to be invited to use an scale. For help with adding a Connection, see Related Content below.


Garmin Connect App

  1. Open the Garmin Connect app.

  2. Access the Menu:

    • Android: Select Garmin Connect Android menu icon (top left).

    • iOS: Select More (bottom right).

  3. Select Garmin Devices.

  4. Select your Index Smart Scale or Index S2.

  5. Select Device Settings.

  6. Select Manage Users.

  7. Select Invite People.

  8. Select Invite by Email or select a Connection to continue.


Garmin Connect Web

  1. Open Garmin Connect from a web browser.

  2. Select watch icon (Devices & Sync Status) from the top right.

  3. Select your Index Smart Scale or Index S2.

  4. Select Device Settings.

  5. Select Manage Users.

  6. Select Invite by Email or select a Connection to continue.

Additional users will not be able to invite their Connections. This is limited to the owner of the Index Smart Scale series.


How Do I Accept an Invitation for an Index Smart Scale?

After an scale owner adds a user, an invitation will be sent to the user to accept. The invitation will appear under Requests and Notifications Notification Box in Garmin Connect web or in the Notifications tab Notification Box in the Garmin Connect app. They will also receive an email for the invitation if they have chosen to receive Connect emails. To accept the invitation and complete the setup:

  1. Select Get Started from the notification in Garmin Connect, in the Garmin Connect app, or in the email that was received.

  2. Enter your initials when prompted and confirm your user information is correct.

  3. Select Next or Finish to complete the setup.


How Do I Remove a User From a Scale?

Removing users from a scale can be done through the Garmin Connect app or Garmin Connect web. Select your option below.


Garmin Connect App

  1. Open the Garmin Connect app.

  2. Access the menu:

    • Android: Select Three blue horizontal lines (top left).

    • iOS: Select More (bottom right).

  3. Select Garmin Devices.

  4. Select your Index Smart Scale or Index S2.

  5. Select General.

  6. Select Manage Users.

  7. Select Three dots stacked verticallyRemove.

  8. Select Remove again on the profile you wish to delete.


Garmin Connect Web

  1. Open Garmin Connect from a web browser.
  2. Select watch icon (upper right).

  3. Select your Index Smart Scale or Index S2.

  4. Select Device Settings.

  5. Select Remove next to the name of the Connection you wish to remove.


I Received a Message: "Maximum Amount of Invitations Sent"

This can occur when you have sent an invitation to the same user multiple times and this user has not accepted it. In order to remove pending invitations, walk through the steps below:

  1. Open the Garmin Connect app.

  2. Access the menu:

    • Android: Select Three blue horizontal lines (top left).

    • iOS: Select More (bottom right).

  3. Select Garmin Devices.

  4. Select the Index Scale.

  5. Select Manage Users.

  6. Select Edit (top right).

  7. Select Red circle with white minus sign next to the user/invitation you want to remove.

  8. Select Delete.

  9. Confirm you want to delete the invitation.
