Garmin's Bluetooth Requirements for Automotive Devices

Garmin strives to maintain Bluetooth compatibility with as many phones as possible.  Below are the mobile device requirements needed to pair your automotive device.

For help with a Bluetooth-related problem, click on Support Center and enter the Product Name or the Serial Number of your device.  Once your device is entered, search for "Bluetooth Troubleshooting" under Other, or the Bluetooth / Pairing your Smartphone Common Topic.

Hands-Free Calling

This is for when you want to pair your mobile device to your automotive device to use your automotive device as a Bluetooth microphone and speaker for phone calls.

Requirements:  Mobile device must support Bluetooth functionality

Contact your cellular provider or phone manufacturer for more information or help.

Media Playback (A2DP)

Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) allows you to stream stereo (2 channel) audio from a mobile phone to a compatible wireless headset via a Bluetooth connection.

Garmin devices with A2DP Bluetooth can pair to both a mobile phone and a headset. This allows media audio from both the Garmin device and the mobile phone to be output through the headset.

Requirements: Contact your mobile device's manufacturer to see if your mobile device has A2DP.
