Garmin Running Power Device Requirements

The requirements for Running Power will vary based on the model of watch you are using.

NOTE: Sensors with an asterisk require you to pair using the ANT+ option instead of the Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE) option. BLE on these devices disables the necessary running dynamics information that running power requires.

Watch Models That Support Native Running Power?

Native running power removes the need for a compatible accessory or downloaded app from the Connect IQ™ Store. These devices are able to use the built in wrist-based Running Power. By default the watch will use a connected accessory that provides the running dynamic used for running power to ensure the best accuracy. You can also specify the source of running dynamics to be smart mode, accessory only or wrist only. For more information, see Running Power in your owner's manual.
