Update the Traffic Receiver Firmware and Traffic Subscription

Note: Devices with T or Traffic in the model name do not need to update the following.  Devices with LMT-S in the model name only need to do this if you buy a traffic cable or subscription separately.  

Before enabling a new traffic subscription, update the software on the GPS device and GTM traffic receiver. Software for both the device and traffic receiver cable may be updated through the device using the Garmin Express™ application.

Once the device and traffic software updates are completed in Garmin Express, the traffic receiver will need to be connected to the device and power to receive the update.

If the device was packaged with a traffic subscription (indicated by a T or Traffic in the model name), there is no need to activate the subscription. The device will begin receiving traffic information once it is connected to power using the traffic receiver and has acquired satellites within the traffic coverage area.

NOTE: The dēzl™ OTR610, dēzl™ OTR710, Garmin DriveCam™ 76, Garmin DriveSmart™ 66 with Amazon Alexa. Garmin DriveSmart™ 76 with Amazon Alexa, Garmin DriveSmart™ 86 with Amazon Alexa, RV 795 and the RVcam 795 would need a Mini USB to USB-C Adapter to connect the device to a GTM 36 or GTM 60 traffic receiver.
