DeLorme Draw Layers Deleting and Changing by Themselves
When DeLorme® draw layers change or are deleted, seemingly by themselves, the usual cause is that the draw layer is referenced by two different map files.
DeLorme software allows you to manipulate data through a layering process. The map file references the different types of files you can create—like draw files, route files, XData files, etc. Where you can get into trouble is when you save a map file that points to a draw layer with a different name using the File Save As option. This results in two separate map files that reference the same draw layer (as shown in the image below).
Changes made to draw objects in one map file would then be reflected in the other as they share the same draw layer.
To prevent this, when you create a new map file, on the Map Files tab select File New to create a new map file that is not associated with any other files.
