Garmin Connect App: "Sync Failed File Transfer Error Not Enough Space"
The Garmin Connect™ app on iOS may display a message "Sync Failed FileTransferError notEnoughSpace". This occurs when the app is trying to send a software update to the watch (pictured below).
I Am Seeing This Error. How Can I Update My Device?
If you are seeing this error, you can use the Garmin Express™ program to download and install the software update on your watch.
For instructions on installing Garmin Express, choose your computer's operating system below:
Windows
Current Version of Garmin Express for Windows: 7.25.0 as of March 25, 2025.
NOTE: The images below may include older version numbers and are only provided as examples.
Once the installation is complete, select Close. Your Applications folder will automatically open.
Double-click the Garmin Express icon in the Applications folder.
Once installed, connect your watch to your computer using the USB charging cable and follow the instructions to add your device to Garmin Express. Once added, any available software updates will automatically be installed.
