How to View the Internal Serial Number on Your Plotter Card

Sometimes, you may be asked to provide the internal serial number file (nTag.txt) from your Navionics® card for troubleshooting or technical support. This situation may arise if you only have the microSD card and have misplaced the SD sleeve. In order to do this you will need to set your computer to Show Hidden Files. Insert the card into your PC, and follow the steps below depending on the operating system of your computer.

Windows 7

  1. Open File Explorer
  2. Click the Organize button under the left side of your menu bar
  3. Click Folder and Search Options
  4. Click the View tab
  5. Under Advanced settings, click Show hidden files and folders, and then click OK

Windows 8 or 10

  1. Open the File Explorer
  2. Click the View tab
  3. Under the Show/Hide section, select the check box by Hidden Items

Windows 11

  1. Open the File Explorer 
  2. Select View
  3. Click Options
  4. Select Change folder and search options
  5. Select the View tab
  6. In Advanced Settings, select Show hidden files, folders and drives and OK
  7. Click OK

Safari 10.12 or Higher

Use the shortcut key ( SHIFT + CMD + . ) while the contents of the card are open
