Reset GPSMAP 76 with Color Display and GPS/GPSMAP 60 Series

There are a few instances in which you may want to perform a full reset on your GPS 60 series, GPSMAP® 76C, 76CS, 76Cx, 76CSx, or GPSMAP® 60 series outdoor handheld including the following:

  • not receiving a satellite signal
  • restoring the factory default settings
  • not functioning properly

All settings and user data* may be erased when resetting the GPS. User data can be backed up to the computer. For more assistance please see related content. 

To perform a master reset:

  1. Turn off the device
  2. Press and hold PAGE and ENTER
  3. Power on the device while continuing to hold PAGE and ENTER
  4. Release the buttons once the Do you really want to erase all user data? message appears
  5. Select Yes

The device is now reset. You may need to leave the device outside with a clear view of the sky for a minimum of 20 minutes to acquire satellite data.

*User data consists of waypoints, routes, tracks, and geocaches
