(2023) Service Bulletin 23120 Rev A: GTS 8X0 and GTS Processor FPGA Software Version 2.10 for Non-GX000 Integrated Flight Deck Installations Only

PRODUCTS AFFECTED:

All GTS 8X0 (GTS 800/GTS 820/GTS 850) and GTS Processor (GTS 825/855/8000) units with FPGA software version 2.00 that are not installed as part of a GX000 Integrated Flight Deck System (e.g. GX000, G900X  Flight Deck, Embraer Prodigy, Cirrus Perspective) are affected.

The current GTS FPGA software version can be viewed by using the GTS Install Tool (refer to the Modification Instructions section of this bulletin), on the software label adjacent to the GTS serial number tag (for installations unable to electronically display the software part number), or on the display for those units interfaced through HSDB (e.g. GTN  6XX/7XX Touchscreen Avionics, G500, G500H, and G600).

TSO Authorization does not provide installation airworthiness approval. Separate installation airworthiness approval is required for type-certified aircraft. Notification of revision to any Garmin STC(s) will be provided under a separate service bulletin.

The current revision of the GTS 8XX Pilot s Guide (Garmin P/N 190-00587-02) Rev E is applicable.

PURPOSE:

GTS FPGA software version 2.10 improves ARINC 429 transmitter timing. This change improves communication with certain transponders that require tighter tolerance.
