Using the Compass Page on the Rino 600 Series
The device has a 3-axis compass. You can use a bearing pointer or a course pointer to navigate to your destination.
NOTE: When the device is in an auto mount, the compass displays GPS heading, not magnetic heading.
Using the Compass
You can use the compass to navigate an active route.
From the main menu, select Compass.
Hold the device level.
Follow the compass pointer to your destination.
Changing the Compass Pointer
From the main menu, select Setup.
Select Heading.
Select Go To Line/Pointer.
Select an option:
Bearing (Large):
Bearing (Small):
Course (CDI):
Calibrating the Compass
NOTE: Calibrate the electronic compass outdoors. Do not stand near objects that influence magnetic fields, such as cars, buildings, or overhead power lines.
You should calibrate the compass after moving long distances, experiencing temperature changes, or changing the batteries.
From the main menu, select Setup.
Select Heading.
Select Compass Calibration.
Select Start.
Follow the on-screen instructions.
