Area Calculation Information for the GPSMAP 276Cx

The GPSMAP® 276Cx outdoor handheld will automatically provide an area calculation for the active track. Before doing an area calculation for a new area, you will want to clear the current track. 

Performing an Area Calculation

1. Go to the Main Menu
2. Select Track
3. Select Active
4. Select Clear
5. By default, the device will automatically begin recording a new active track
   • If recording was manually stopped previously, select Start to manually start track recording
6. Travel the perimeter of the area
7. Select Save

After you've finished traveling the perimeter of the area you can see an area calculation on the Active Track page. 

Once the track has been saved, the area can be viewed in BaseCamp™ software or directly on the handheld by selecting the saved track from the FIT or GPX tabs on the Track page.
