Garmin Explore Password Recovery
If you have forgotten or need to change the account password for your Garmin Explore™ account, the steps below will show you how to reset the password using a desktop browser or a mobile browser.
NOTE: Selecting Forgot Password 6 or more times in the last 30 days may cause your account to be locked temporarily. If this occurs, or if you no longer have access to the email address associated with your Garmin Explore account, contact Product Support for further assistance.
Resetting Your Garmin Explore Account Password Using the Garmin Explore app
Open the Garmin Explore app.
Select Sign in.
Agree to the Terms and Conditions and select Next.
Select Forgot Password.
Enter the email address associated with your Garmin account, then select Recover Password.
If the email address you entered matches one we have on file, you will receive a temporary password via email.
Check your inbox, spam, and junk folder.
Return to the Garmin Explore app to sign in using the case-sensitive temporary password.
After signing in with the temporary password, you will be prompted to update your password.
Resetting Your Garmin Explore Account Password Using a Mobile Browser
Go to explore.garmin.com.
Select Sign In.
I Do Not Have a Sign in Option
You may already be signed into an account, or you may be experiencing a browser issue.I Am Already Signed Into an Account
If you are already signed into an account, you will need to sign out to proceed with the password reset steps.
Touch the image in the top right of the page.
Touch Sign Out.
Touch Sign In and proceed with the password reset steps below.
I Am Not Already Signed Into an Account
If you are not already signed into an account and do not have a sign in option, open a private/incognito window or clear your browser cache, then proceed with the password reset steps at explore.garmin.com again. For help, see - Clear the Browser History, Cache, Temporary Internet Files, or Open a Private Window on a Mobile Device.
Enter your account email address, then select Next.
Select Forgot.
Select Recover Password.
A temporary password will be sent to the email you entered. If you do not receive the temporary password shortly, check your spam/junk email folders, and ensure you have entered the correct account email.
Enter the temporary password in the password field.
Select Sign In.
Enter a new password in the New Password and Retype New Password fields.
The new password must be at least 8 characters and include 1 uppercase letter, 1 lower case letter, and 1 number.
Select Save.
The account password is now reset.
Resetting Your Garmin Explore Account Password Using a Desktop Browser
Go to explore.garmin.com.
Select Sign In.
I Do Not Have a Sign In Option
You may already be signed into an account, or you may be experiencing a browser issue.
My Email Shows in the Top Right
If your email address shows in the top right corner of the page, then you are already signed into an account. You will need to sign out to proceed with the password reset steps.Select the image to the right of your email address.
Select Sign Out.
Select Sign In and proceed with the password reset steps below.
My Email Does Not Show in the Top Right
If your email does not show and you have no sign in option, open a private/incognito window or clear your browser cache, then proceed with the password reset steps at explore.garmin.com again. For help, see - Clear the Browser History, Cache, Temporary Internet Files, or Open a Private Window.
Enter your account email address.
Select Forgot.
Select Recover Password.
