Overlander Turns Off During Update
The Overlander® GPS navigator may appear to go to sleep after a set amount of time when it is plugged in using the microUSB port to an external power source. The default time is 30 seconds, however, it can be changed for up to 30 minutes. See the owner's manual for instructions to adjust the sleep settings.
Most computers and some AC Adapters do not provide a fast enough charge rate to increase the charge on an Overlander®. However, they will maintain the current charge. The screen turns off to reduce power requirements and help ensure the battery does not deplete during the update process.
During software or map updates the screen will go dark but will continue to apply the update in the background. Do not disconnect the device during an update.
See the applicable troubleshooting below if the update fails.
