Message 'Your Device Has Received an Update and Will Restart in 60 Seconds'

The following message may appear on an inReach® satellite communicator after some type of change has been made on the account:

Your Device Has Received an Update and Will Restart in 60 Seconds

This message simply indicates that the device has received new information to update its settings, such as a change to available tracking intervals or other plan detail changes. When this message appears it will not cause any loss of data or changes that would impede use of the device. It behaves similarly to a power-cycle, just like if you had powered the device off and back on yourself.

This does not indicate there is an issue, or that any over-the-air software/firmware update was received. This message will appear some time after a change has been made and when the device is used outdoors so it can establish a connection with the Iridium satellite network. As such, it may not appear right away and can seem out of place if you made changes long before taking the device outside again.
