The Purpose of the Shadow Drive™ Technology on an Autopilot

When an autopilot system is engaged in a route, the Shadow Drive™ technology can automatically disengage the helm. The Shadow Drive attachment is a valve that senses movement in the helm, disengages the autopilot, and allows for manual vessel steering. When the helm is released, and the boat is on a constant heading again, the Shadow Drive will re-engage the autopilot.
