(2013) Service Alert 1346 Rev A: Incorrect Hold Turn

AFFECTED PRODUCTS

All Cirrus Perspective®, Embraer Prodigy™, G1000, G900X, and G950 systems with GDU Software Version 13.XX and all G2000, G3000, and G5000 products with GDU/GTC software versions up to and including software version 3.15 are affected by this alert.

DESCRIPTION

In some instances when flying a hold pattern, the autopilot may turn the wrong direction at the third crossing (and any subsequent crossing thereafter) of the hold waypoint. This will result in an approximately 270 degree turn toward the wrong (unprotected) side of the holding waypoint.

PILOT ACTION

While flying holding patterns with the autopilot engaged, remain vigilant and ensure the autopilot maintains the aircraft on the intended course in assigned airspace. If the error condition occurs, select HDG mode and fly the hold by moving the heading bug, or disengage the autopilot and fly the hold manually. The autopilot may be engaged after leaving the hold.

RESOLUTION

This issue will be corrected in a future software release.
