Can I Pair My Garmin Device to Multiple Mobile Devices?

For optimal Bluetooth® performance, we recommend pairing your Garmin device to only one smartphone or tablet at a time using the Garmin Connect™ app.

If your Garmin® device is paired to more than one mobile device, you may experience Bluetooth connection issues. If you currently have your Garmin device paired to multiple mobile devices and are experiencing Bluetooth connection issues, you will need to unpair the Garmin device from any non-primary devices. 

Reveal the steps below for instructions on how to remove your device from your non-primary mobile device(s). 


Step 1: Remove the Device From the Garmin Connect App

  1. Open the Garmin Connect app.

  2. Select More (bottom right).

  3. Select Garmin Devices.

  4. Select the name of your device.

  5. Select Photo of three dots stacked vertically to Remove the Device (top right).

  6. Select Remove Device from the pop-up box.

  7. Confirm you want to remove the device.

The Garmin device should no longer be listed in the Garmin Connect App.


Step 2: Remove the Device From Bluetooth Settings

NOTE: These steps may vary based on the model of your phone or tablet. Consult the manufacturer or owner's manual for specific instructions.


Android

  1. Open the Settings app on your Non-primary Phone or Tablet.

  2. Select Connections.

  3. Select Bluetooth.

  4. Locate the name of your device under Paired Devices.

    • For Edge Devices there should be two connections starting with BT or BLE

  5. Next to the name of your device select Photo of a gear icon in Android Bluetooth Settings..

  6. Select Unpair.

  7. Confirm you want to unpair or remove.

  8. Reboot your Phone or Tablet.

The Garmin device is now removed from the Bluetooth settings on your non-primary mobile device. 


iOS

  1. Open the Settings app on your Non-primary iPhone or iPad.

  2. Select Bluetooth.

  3. Locate the name of your device under Devices.

    • For Edge Devices there may be two connections starting with Bluetooth or Bluetooth Low Emission.

  4. Next to the name of your device select Photo of a circle with lowercase i for iOS Bluetooth Settings.    

  5. Select Forget This Device.

  6. Confirm you want to Forget the Device.

  7. Reboot your iPhone or iPad.

The Garmin device is now removed from the Bluetooth settings on your non-primary mobile device. 



Step 3: For Edge® Cycling Computers Only

Select the Edge below to reveal the correct set of instructions. 


Edge® 530

  1. Select the DOWN key to access menu.

  2. Select Settings. 

  3. Select Connected Features.

  4. Select Phone.

  5. Select Forget Phone.

    • If the Edge 530 displays Pair Smartphone you can stop here, as this indicated it is not paired to a smartphone. 

  6. Select OK.

  1. Select 3 horizontal lines for Edge menu to access menu.

  2. Select Connected Features.

  3. Select Phone.

  4. Select Forget Phone.

  5. Select checkmark as shown in the Edge menu to confirm your selection.

    • If the Edge displays Pair Smartphone you can stop here, as this indicated it is not paired to a smartphone.
