Viewing Weather Forecasts on the eTrex SE or eTrex Solar

You can connect the eTrex® SE or eTrex Solar outdoor handheld with the Garmin Explore™ or Garmin Connect™ app on a smartphone to receive weather data.¹ For pairing instructions, see - Pairing the eTrex SE or eTrex Solar With a Phone or Tablet.

Select Weather from the main menu or the glance loop to view forecast details.

After selecting Weather, use the   and  buttons, or OK to view more forecast details.

Troubleshooting Wrong or Missing Weather Forecast Data

Try each step below which should resolve most issues.

• Power your Phone and eTrex device off, then back on.

  • May need to be repeated after performing additional troubleshooting suggestions.

• Confirm the eTrex device is paired and connected to the phone through the Garmin Explore app or Garmin Connect app.

• With the eTrex device powered on, take it outdoors to acquire GPS signal.

• For iOS devices, make sure the Garmin Explore app or Garmin Connect app is open and/or running in the background. Force closing the app will result in missing weather data.

• Enable location permissions for the Garmin Explore app and/or Garmin Connect app depending on which app(s) you are using.

¹ To receive updated weather forecast information, the paired smartphone must have a cellular data connection or Wi-Fi available.
