Routing Mode Options on Edge Devices

Many Edge devices allow you to customize route creation by choosing from a list of routing modes. Each routing mode is used to determine the way routes are calculated on your Edge. 

NOTE: The list of routing modes below may differ from model to model. Refer to the Owner's Manual for information on selecting routing modes.

  • ATV / Off Road Driving - Chooses roads, trails, and paths best suited for hiking

  • Automobile Driving - Chooses roads best suited for cars

  • Cycling - Paved roads only

  • Direct Routing - Straight line navigation (as the crow flies)

  • Gravel Cycling - Will include unpaved gravel roads

  • Hiking, Mountaineering - Chooses roads, trails, and paths best suited for hiking

  • Mixed Surface Cycling - Chooses a mixture of roads, trails, paths, gravel, etc.

  • Motorcycle Driving - Chooses roads best suited for motorcycles

  • Mountain Biking - All roads with preference of trails

  • Pedestrian - Chooses roads, trails, and paths best suited for walking

  • Straight Line - Straight line navigation (as the crow flies)

  • Tour Cycling - Paved or unpaved roads

Once you have selected the desired routing mode, the Edge will provide you route options based on the listed parameters.
