Transducer Diagnostics

Transducer Diagnostics

The chartplotter has Transducer Diagnostics when connected to a GSD sonar module and a transducer. The Transducer Diagnostics displays information about the connected transducer.

  • GSD™ 24 sonar module

  • GSD™ 25 sonar module

  • GSD™ 26 sonar module

  • GSD™ 28 sonar module

Accessing Transducer Diagnostics

From any screen on a current GPSMAP® chartplotter: Press Options > Settings > My Vessel > Transducers

Diagnostic Data

Diagnostic data is only available from the XID. A manually configured transducer will not display information. It will list NA if no XID is available.

  • Part Number - This will be the Garmin Part Number if available. It will display NA if no XID is available

  • Housing Style - lists the model as an example, B60 would indicate an Airmar Bronze 60 transducer

  • Serial Number - shows the serial number of the connected XID-equipped transducer from Airmar

  • Max Power - The maximum transmit power being delivered to the transducer

  • Frequency Range - displays the range in which the transducer will operate; this does not mean the transducer is CHIRP capable. Transmit frequency settings are found in the sonar menu to fine-tune the actual transmit frequency and require knowledge of the transducer's peak Transmit frequency resonance. It is suggested to leave it at the nominal 50 and 200 kHz

  • Impedance - is the value entered in the manual configuration mode or the value read from the XID circuit. The number will be between 72 and 560 Ohms
