Button Functions on the eTrex HC Series

NOTE: The eTrex Vista® HCx is pictured above, but the button layout and button functions are the same on the eTrex Legend® HCx, eTrex Summit® HC, and eTrex Venture® HC.

UP

• Zoom out on the Map page.
• Scroll up in a list.

DOWN

• Zoom in on the Map page.
• Scroll down in a list.

MENU/FIND

• Press and hold to access the Find menu.
• Press to view options for a page.
• Press twice to access the main menu.
  

QUIT/PAGE

• Press to cycle through main pages.
• Allows you to exit/quit a function.
• Press and hold to turn the electronic compass on or off (eTrex Vista® HCx and eTrex Summit® HC only)

POWER/BACKLIGHT

• Press and hold to turn the unit on/off.
• Press to adjust backlighting, view time/date and battery capacity.

THUMB STICK

• Press in to enter highlighted options or confirm messages.
• Move up/down or right/left to move through lists, highlighted fields, on-screen buttons, icons, enter data, or move the map panning arrow.
• Press in and hold for two seconds to mark your current location as a waypoint.
