Using TracBack on the inReach Mini

The TracBack® feature is available when you are actively saving track points to the inReach® Mini satellite communicator, or you have not cleared your previous track points.

TracBack routing allows you to navigate back along the recorded track log. If you have cleared your previous track points or have not started tracking, there is no track data to follow.

Performing a TracBack Routing on the inReach Mini Handheld

  1. Navigate to the Main Menu.
  2. Select OK.
  3. Select Navigate.
  4. Select TracBack.
  5. Select OK.

The inReach Mini handheld will now navigate back along the previously recorded track with a compass arrow pointing in the correct direction.

It will start the TracBack navigation to the closest track, then navigate you back to the starting point of the entire recorded track.

Usage Tip

Before starting your trip, we recommend clearing the inReach Mini handheld's track log. Clearing the track log at the beginning of your trip will ensure that no previous tracking data will be included when you are tracking back.

  1. Start Tracking.
  2. Select OK on the Tracking Page.
  3. Select Clear Log.
  4. Select OK.
  5. Select Yes to clear the history.
  6. Begin your trip and continue until you want to return to where you started tracking. Then choose the TracBack option.
  7. Navigate back to the beginning of the track.

NOTE: You are only charged for tracking if you have the Send Interval enabled on your inReach Mini handheld. For more information, see - Getting Started with Tracking and Logging on an inReach Mini
