Outdoor GPS Handheld Compatibility with chirp
The Garmin chirp™ wireless beacon is designed specifically for geocaching. The chirp beacon can communicate with, and be programmed by, any compatible1 wireless-enabled Garmin handheld.
The chirp beacon stores hints, multi-cache coordinates, counts visitors and confirms the cache is nearby. The chirp beacon is password protected and has a battery life of up to one year.
NOTE: The chirp beacon has been discontinued and is no longer for sale from Garmin.
Some GPS models require a software update to be chirp compatible. To update device software, see Related.
1The Colorado, D2 series, epix, fēnix series, and tactix series watches are able to detect, but not program a chirp.
