inReach Mini 2 Messaging Functions

Steps for sending and checking for messages on the inReach® Mini 2 handheld are provided below.

Sending a Text Message

1. From the home page, press OK to open the main menu.
2. Select Send Message.
3. Choose recipients from your contacts list, or select Type Contact to enter each recipient's contact information.
4. Select Next.
5. Select an option:
   • To start with a pre-written message, press or to scroll through the quick text messages.
     NOTE: You can add and edit quick text messages on the Garmin Explore™ website.
   • To write a custom text message, select Type Message.
     NOTE: To select from the autocomplete options, begin typing a word, hold OK, and use and to scroll through the options.
6. When you have finished your message, select .
7. Press OK to send the message.

Sending a Check-in Message

NOTE: Check-in messages have replaced preset messages as of September 27th, 2022. inReach® accounts set up prior to this date will still have preset messages available, but any new accounts created after this date will use check-in messages. With up-to-date software, these will be labeled on the device as Check-Ins in either case.

1. From the home page, press OK to open the main menu.
2. Select Check-In.
3. Press or to scroll through the Check-In messages.
4. Press OK to select a Check-In message.
   The content and recipients of the message appear.
5. Press OK to send the message.

Checking for Messages

1. From the home page, press or to scroll through the widget glances.
2. Select Check for Messages.
