LIDAR-Lite v3 Operating Temperature and Accuracy

The LIDAR-Lite v3 sensor is designed for operating temperatures of -20°C to +60°C (-4 to +140°F).  The sensor uses a silicon oscillator embedded in the Signal Processing chip.  The manufacturer’s stated accuracy of this chip based oscillator is 5% although the observed accuracy is typically better than 1%.  

Operation of the sensor under extreme temperature conditions can result in distance measurements that vary from measurements taken while operating the sensor at standard temperatures.
